The performance of sports in Indonesia still faces challenges in achieving consistency. One example is South Sumatra Province, which has great potential in sports, especially football. However, the development of football in this province shows disparities due to various factors. A similar condition is observed in Palembang City, the center of sports development in South Sumatra. In this city, fluctuations in the performance of football athletes remain a concern in regional sports development. One contributing factor is the lack of adequate knowledge, which may influence athletes' attitudes toward dietary patterns and nutritional status. Therefore, attractive and interactive nutrition education is needed, such as through BOMAZIGA (Booklet Mahir Gizi Olahraga). This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition education using the BOMAZIGA media on the knowledge and attitudes of football athletes in Palembang City. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group approach. A total of 84 respondents (42 in the experimental group and 42 in the control group) were selected using purposive sampling. The effect was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Rank Test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed an increase in knowledge by 95.2% and a positive attitude by 81% after the intervention. Both the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of BOMAZIGA nutrition education on athletes' knowledge and attitudes. Thus, BOMAZIGA is proven to be an effective nutrition education tool to support the improvement of knowledge and attitudes among football athletes in Palembang City.
