EFEKTIVITAS PENAATAN IMPLEMENTASI RKL-RPL ASPEK BIOLOGI DALAM AMDAL STUDI KASUS: DOKUMEN AMDAL PERIODE 2020-2024 DI KABUPATEN LAHAT SUMATERA SELATAN
The crisis of natural resources and the environment is escalating due to human exploitation and lack of concern for nature. AMDAL (Environmental Impact Assessment) has become a crucial instrument in sustainable development to identify the negative impacts of industries and select environmentally friendly technologies. However, AMDAL implementation is often seen merely as a licensing requirement rather than an effective mitigation tool. In South Sumatra, water pollution caused by mining activities, such as the case in Kungkilan River, indicates that although companies possess an AMDAL, its implementation has not been effective in preventing environmental damage. The effectiveness of AMDAL is measured by the management and monitoring of the environment, which should be conducted continuously. This study aims to assess the compliance and effectiveness of RKL-RPL (Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans) implementation in AMDAL documents as an instrument to prevent environmental degradation. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research was conducted through observations and document analysis at the Environmental Agency of Lahat, South Sumatra. The findings indicate that the RKL-RPL implementation during the 2020-2024 period remains suboptimal, necessitating further evaluation of environmental management efforts.
