PENGELOLAAN SISTEM ABSENSI BERBASIS FINGEPRINT DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEDISIPLINAN PEGAWAI DI SEKRETARIAT DPRD PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
This thesis aims to analyze the management of fingerprint-based attendance systems in improving employee discipline at the Secretariat of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD. Along with technological advances, digital attendance systems have become an important element in employee management to ensure accurate and efficient attendance. Work discipline is a crucial aspect in improving employee performance, and the implementation of a fingerprint-based attendance system is expected to minimize conditions and improve the accuracy of employee attendance data. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a fingerprint-based attendance system significantly improves employee discipline more effectively than the previous manual system and reduces the level of delays and ease of monitoring attendance. However, several obstacles such as technical problems with fingerprint devices that cause data management to be stuck in the TU section and employee negligence who often violate the SOP for office hours are still obstacles in the implementation of this system. Therefore, system improvements and increased socialization of attendance policies are needed to achieve more optimal attendance management. This research is expected to contribute to the management of human resources in government agencies and be a reference for further research in this field. Keywords: fingerprint attendance, employee discipline, DPRD Secretariat Sumsel, attendance management, public administration.
