PENGARUH PUTARAN PISAU DAN TINGKAT KEKERINGAN BAHAN TERHADAP KINERJA ALAT PENGHANCUR KEONG
This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of snail crushing tools in overcoming the problem of rice snail pests as an alternative feed for laying ducks. Performance testing of the tool was carried out by considering the rotating speed and drying time. This research was conducted from November 2024 to February 2025 at the Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, South Sumatra. The method applied was a 2 x 3 factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) with three replications. Factor A included drying time (A1 = 0 days, A2 = 3 days), while factor B was rotation speed (B1 = 400 rpm ± 10, B2 = 450 rpm ± 10, B3 = 500 rpm ± 10). Parameters measured included tool work capacity, work efficiency, fuel consumption, and RPM decline. Results showed that the lowest tool working capacity was found in A2B3 34.17 (kg/h) and the highest in A1B3 103.28 (kg/h). Milling efficiency was recorded to range from 84% (A2B3) to 91.67% (A1B2). Fuel requirement varied between 0.57 (ℓ/h) in A2B3 and 1.69 (ℓ/h) in A1B3. A significant effect on working capacity, efficiency, and fuel consumption was attributed to drying time (Factor A), while no significant effect was observed for rotation speed (Factor B) on all parameters.
