Kerinci has the potential value of art and culture with a high diversity of and supported by
beautiful tourist destinations. Arts and cultural activities which are still growing and
developing in this area such as the art of regional music, songs of the region, the regional
dance, Arts Theatre, fine Arts, cultural activities such as kenduri Sko ceremony, Lake
Kerinci festival and various other traditional art and cultural forms. Along with the
advancement of the times and the increasingly swift flow of globalization make the arts and
culture that exist until now began marginalized and over time will begin to disappear
because of lack of protection, development and utilization of art and culture that already
exists.Therefore it is necessary for the Art and culture center which is able to become a
forum for cultural observer and young generations in the development, training, and
performances of Kerinci art and culture. Through the Space location approach that is
designed based on the idea of prioritizing and optimizing the potential of location with
contextual architecture that aligns and complements the surrounding environment.
