RANCANG BANGUN MESIN PEMOTONG KARET GELANG BERBASIS MATA PISAU KONIG
This study aims to design and build a rubber band cutting machine based on a konig blade .This research was conducted from December 2024 to May 2025 at the Workshop, Agricultural Technology Departmant, Faculty of Agriculture,Sriwijaya University. The study was carried out using an engineering design method, presenting data through tables, drawings, and graphs. The research consisted of three stages: design, fabrication and assembly of the tool, and machine testing. The experiment was conducted with one repetition using rubber band material. The research parameters included the working capacity of the tool,cutting yield, and uniformity of the cutting results on the rubber bands. The results showed that the highest effective machine capacity was achieved in the third test with a value of 74 cuts per minute, while the lowest average was found in the first test with 70 cuts per minute. The highest cutting yield of the rubber band cutting machine was recorded in the third test at 81.06%, and the lowest in the first test at 75.21%. The uniformity of the cutting results produced an average of 717 cuts per session, with 85-88% of the cuts having an exact thickness of 2 mm. However, there were still 4.6-5.9% of cuts that were too thin, 6.9-8.12% that were too thick, and 5.3-6.6% of damaged cuts that need improvement to enhance product quality. The elasticity of the cut rubber bands demonstrated the ability to withstand a load of up to 5 kg without damage and could stretch up to 5 cm before returning to their original shape.
