ANALISIS KECUKUPAN ALAT DAN MESIN PERTANIAN DI DESA PEDU KECAMATAN JEJAWI KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR SUMATERA SELATAN
Pedu Village, Jejawi Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir District, South Sumatra, was identified as one of the rice production centers with a rice field area of 991 ha, predominantly consisting of lebak swamp land typologies. However, agricultural productivity in this area was found to be suboptimal due to limited access to agricultural machinery (alsintan). This study was conducted to evaluate the availability, requirement, and adequacy levels of alsintan at each stage of rice cultivation, from pre-harvest to post-harvest, and to analyze the efficiency of their utlization. The research was carried out using a survey method and quantitative descriptive analysis with a case study approach. It was revealed that most types of alsintan, such as hand tractors, water pumps, cultivator, and post harvest equipment were in very poor condition with adequacy level below 50%. The inefficiency of alsintan usage was exacerbated by uneven distribution and the incompatibility of tool specifications with the caracteristics of the lebak swamp land (pematang, tengahan, and dalam lebak types). Based on the findings, it was recommended that a targeted procurement and distribution strategy based on land typology, hydrography, soil mechanics and the implementation of a shared usage system among farmer groups, be adopted to improve agricultural efficiency and ensure sustainable productivity.
