Background: Caesarea section causes pain in the incision area caused by the disruption of tissue continuity so that it can result in acute pain, disruption of physical mobility and fulfillment of daily activity needs. The main problem is acute pain. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done to reduce pain in post-cesarean section patients is by administering lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation. Objective: Applying lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation to reduce pain in post-caesarean section mothers. Method: The method used is qualitative research with a case study approach to 3 post-caesarea section patients who experience pain. Results: There were four nursing problems found in post-caesarean section patients with the main nursing problem being acute pain. The results of the provision of non-pharmacological interventions, namely the application of lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation which were carried out for 3 days with a duration of 15 minutes and given after 4 hours of analgesic administration, showed that there was a decrease of 3 to 4 points on the pain scale in the three patients. Discussion: The results of the assessment showed that pain was the main complaint experienced by the three post-caesarean section patients, so that the main nursing problem could be established, namely acute pain. The application of lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation is a non-pharmacological intervention that has an important role in reducing pain by diverting the patient's attention to the location of the pain or the surgical area, reducing the activation of chemical mediators in the inflammatory process that increases the pain response and minimizing the transmission of pain nerves to the central nervous system, thereby reducing the perception of pain. There is a decrease in pain intensity from severe and moderate pain to mild pain after the application of lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation. Conclusion: The application of lavender aromatherapy and Benson relaxation is effective in reducing pain experienced by post-caesarean section patients.
