RANCANG BANGUN GENERATOR MAGNET PERMANEN TIPE FLUKS AKSIAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MAGNET TIPE NEODYMIUM
This research focuses on developing an axial flux permanent magnet generator (AFPMG) for small-scale power generation systems such as wind turbines or micro-hydro power plants. The generator offers several key advantages, including high power density, optimal efficiency at low speeds, and a compact design. The developed prototype utilizes a dual-rotor configuration with alternating NdFeB magnets sandwiching a copper-wound stator. Test results demonstrated promising performance with no-load voltage reaching 7.29 V and on-load voltage of 5.12 V under operating conditions. However, a voltage regulation of 42.16% was observed, indicating significant voltage drop under load. In terms of efficiency, the generator achieved 47.9% in actual measurements, closely matching the 48.0% simulation results. These findings provide an important foundation for further development, particularly in design optimization to improve voltage stability and system efficiency. This research opens opportunities for more advanced AFPMG development for various small-scale renewable energy applications in the future.
