The main problem addressed in this research is the low posting frequency and suboptimal content management of the official Instagram account of SMPN 35 Palembang, which may hinder the fulfillment of followers’ information needs. This study aims to examine the influence of Instagram social media usage on the fulfillment of information needs among followers of the @smpnegeri35plg account. Social media has become an essential tool for disseminating information, especially within educational institutions. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 97 respondents, applying purposive sampling. The research instrument was first tested through a pilot test involving 40 respondents and analyzed using SmartPLS software. The analysis was conducted in two stages: the measurement model test (outer model) and the structural model test (inner model). The findings show that Instagram usage positively affects the fulfillment of followers’ information needs. These results suggest that social media, when properly managed, can serve as an effective communication tool for schools in delivering information to the public
