This study aims to explore how teacher's interpersonal communication enhances student's learning enthusiasm and creativity at SMA Methodist 2 Medan. Interpersonal communication refers to interactions between two or more individuals, consisting of a message sender and a receiver, for the exchange of ideas and opinions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, using Joseph A. Devito's (2016) interpersonal communication theory, which emphasizes cultural sensitivity, openness, supportiveness, equality, and flexibility. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers embrace the diversity within the school, demonstrating openness to all students by treating them equally. They actively engage with students, positioning themselves as approachable figures, and providing encouragement to help students recognize and utilize their potential. As a result, students show increased enthusiasm for learning and gradually develop their creativity. This study also serves as an important evaluation tool for teachers, who play a key role in education. By improving their interpersonal communication approach, teachers can further support students in enhancing their motivation and creativity, ultimately contributing to their future success.
