The incidence of stunting in Indonesia has a lasting impact on children. Until now, handling stunting is still the focus of the Indonesian government because the prevalence of stunting has not yet reached the national target (14%). The high and low prevalence of stunting is influenced by various determinants including direct causes, indirect causes and basic causes. This study aims to analyze and compare the distribution and determinants of stunting using regional characteristics so that we can see the causes of the high prevalence of stunting in Musi Rawas Regency and the low prevalence of stunting in Pagar Alam City. This research is descriptive research with an ecological study design whose unit of analysis is a population. The population groups studied were Musi Rawas Regency and Pagar Alam City. This research uses secondary data such as stunting prevalence variables and determinant coverage obtained from the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office as well as variables for the number of health facilities obtained from the official government website. The level of coverage of stunting determinants was examined by looking at the percentage of target achievement set by the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office. The results of this research show that 1) the prevalence of stunting in Musi Rawas Regency and Pagar Alam City based on EPPGM data has reached the target, while the prevalence of stunting based on SSGI data in Musi Rawas Regency has not reached the target; 2) The percentage coverage of stunting determinants in Musi Rawas Regency and Pagar Alam City has reached the target, only the percentage of ANC coverage in Musi Rawas Regency has not reached the target; 3) the coverage of stunting determinants, namely exclusive breastfeeding, TTD and vitamin A based on sub-districts, is still below the target; 4) the existence of other determinants that cause stunting in areas with a percentage of determinant coverage below the target, namely regional characteristics, education, income, maternal knowledge, IMD quality, and pregnant women's compliance with ANC visits. In order for the coverage of stunting determinants to reach the set targets, it is necessary to carry out monitoring measures on the quality of the determinants and compliance of pregnant women who will or have had babies or toddlers.. Key words: Stunting, Determinants of stunting, Spatial Analysis, Musi Rawas, Pagar Alam
