This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the high dropout rate in Tanjung Baru Petai Village. The methodology used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that school dropouts in Tanjung Baru Petai Village are influenced by both internal and external factors. The internal factors include; 1) A lack of interest in school among children, 2) Physical health issues that hinder learning activities, such as accidents, frequent fatigue, and fainting, which lead children to stop attending school, 3) Growing laziness due to a lack of motivation and support for education. Meanwhile, the external factors include; 1) Limited parental involvement in emphasizing the importance of education, 2) Negative environmental influences, such as unhealthy social interactions, excessive use of gadgets/gaming, and peer pressure from other dropouts, 3) The family's limited economic conditions, which prevent children from continuing their education. In conclusion, among all these factors, economic hardship is the primary factor that causes children to discontinue their education and not pursue higher levels of schooling.
