STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN DIVERSIFIKASI PRODUK OLAHAN DALAM PROGRAM PEKARANGAN PANGAN LESTARI DI KECAMATAN JAKABARING DAN GANDUS KOTA PALEMBANG
Product diversification is one form of utilizing yard produce to support food security and increase household income. The Sustainable Food Yard Program (P2L) is a government program that encourages the use of yard land for food crop cultivation, but the development of processed products from yard produce is still not optimal. This study aims to identify the activities and types of processed products produced by Women Farmers Groups (KWT) in the P2L program, analyze internal and external factors that influence product diversification development, formulate development strategies using SWOT analysis, and determine priority development strategies using the QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) method. Data collection was conducted in January-February 2025 at two active KWTs engaged in backyard product processing, namely KWT Anggrek in Jakabaring District and KWT Mekar Sari in Gandus District, Palembang City. The research method used was a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. Respondents in the activity identification and factor analysis stages included all KWT members, while the formulation and determination of strategies involved key respondents, namely field agricultural extension workers, extension coordinator, and representatives from the Palembang City Agriculture Office. The data collected consisted of primary data through questionnaires and interviews, as well as secondary data from group documents and archives. Data analysis techniques used SWOT to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and QSPM to determine strategic priorities. The research findings indicate that the Anggrek and Mekar Sari KWTs have produced various products such as moringa leaf crackers, cassava crackers, spinach chips, and red ginger syrup. The SWOT analysis produced several development strategies based on the combination of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Furthermore, based on the QSPM analysis, the priority strategy selected was to utilize government training and support programs to enhance the members' capabilities in product innovation and marketing techniques. This strategy is deemed most relevant to the conditions and needs of the farmer group, particularly in strengthening human resource capacity and utilizing simple technology to support sustainable processing. The research findings indicate that product development in the P2L program not only requires raw material potential but also strategic support in terms of training, marketing, and institutional framework.
