ANALISIS ALOKASI WAKTU KERJA WANITA TANI DALAM OPTIMALISASI LAHAN PEKARANGAN PADA PROGRAM PEKARANGAN PANGAN LESTARI (P2L) DI KECAMATAN JAKABARING KOTA PALEMBANG
Jakabaring District in Palembang City is home to women's farmer groups actively implementing the Sustainable Home Garden Program (Pekarangan Pangan Lestari/P2L), which encourages the use of household yards for agricultural activities. This study aims to: (1) measure the time allocation of women farmers in utilizing yard land, (2) determine the amount of savings on vegetable consumption and additional income generated, and (3) formulate strategies to optimize yard land utilization. The research involved 30 respondents, drawn equally from two different women's farmer groups. The results showed that most women cultivated a variety of vegetables such as chili, eggplant, water spinach, Brazilian spinach, and pakcoy using both polybag methods and direct planting. While the primary purpose was for household consumption, a portion of the produce was sold to generate income. On average, women farmers dedicated 4.07 hours per day or approximately 16.96 percent of their time to yard-based farming alongside other household and social responsibilities. Home yard farming contributed to household savings of up to 7.22 kilograms of vegetables per season or 1.44 kilograms monthly, valued at around Rp85,140 per season or Rp17,028 monthly. Additionally, the activity provided an average supplemental income of Rp66,633 per month.
