ANALISIS KELAYAKAN FINANSIAL USAHATANI MELON INTHANON (STUDI KASUS PADA GREENHOUSE AGRO MELON DESA TANJUNG AGUNG KECAMATAN BANYUASIN III KABUPATEN BANYUASIN) FINANCIAL FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS OF INTHANON MELON FARMING (CASE STUDY ON AGRO MELON GREENHOUSE IN TANJUNG AGUNG VILLAGE BANYUASIN III SUBDISTRICT BANYUASIN REGENCY)
Melon is one of the promising horticultural commodities in Indonesia, and Banyuasin Regency has great potential for melon cultivation development. Tanjung Agung Village in Banyuasin III Subdistrict is known as one of the areas that applies Greenhouse technology in cultivating Inthanon melon, a variety favored for its sweet taste and short growing period. However, to ensure the sustainability of this farming business, an in-depth financial feasibility analysis is needed as a basis for investment decision-making. This study aimed to: (1) Calculate the income from Inthanon melon farming at the Agro Melon Greenhouse in Tanjung Agung Village; (2) Analyze the financial feasibility of Inthanon melon farming; and (3) Analyze the sensitivity of the business feasibility to changes in production costs, selling prices, and production volume. The research used a case study method at Agro Melon Greenhouse with purposive sampling, involving the business owner, two farmers, and related stakeholders. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Financial feasibility analysis was carried out using several indicators: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Gross Benefit-Cost Ratio (Gross B/C), Break Even Point (BEP), and Payback Period(PP). The results showed that Inthanon melon farming at Agro Melon Greenhouse is financially feasible, with NPV > 0, IRR higher than the discount rate, Net B/C and Gross B/C > 1, and Payback Periodshorter than the investment lifespan. BEP was also achieved within the production cycle. Sensitivity analysis indicated that the business remained feasible despite a 38,63% increase in operational costs, a 25,48% decrease in selling prices and decrease in production volume. These findings indicate that greenhouse-based Inthanon melon farming is a profitable agribusiness opportunity and is recommended for further development.
