KOMUNIKASI PERSUASIF TB RANGERS MASYARAKAT SEHAT SRIWIJAYA DALAM UPAYA ELIMINASI TUBERKULOSIS DALAM UPAYA ELIMINASI TUBERKULOSIS DI PALEMBANG (Studi pada Pelaksanaan Batch 9)
Tuberculosis is one of the major public health challenges in Indonesia, with a high number of caes placing the country among those with the highest TB burden globally. Low healthy literacy contributes to limited public awareness of the importance of prevention, treatment, and the dangers of the infectious disease. To address this complex issue, TB Rangers emerged as a youth initiative supporting Tuberculosis eliminations efforts, including their placement at Masyarakat Sehat Sriwijaya Association, in South Sumatera. This study aims to explore the persuasive communication employed by TB Rangers batch 9, particularly in Palembang City. The research refers to five persuasive communication techniques proposed by Effendy (2004) namely association techniques, integration, reward, red-herring, and arrangement. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that TB Rangers applied all five techniques in delivering Tuberculosis prevention messages, which were packaged in engaging and relevant ways, tailored to the characteristics of the target audience. However, the limited competence of TB Rangers as student interns posed a challenge in establishing credibility as communicators. Therefore, reinforcing messages with concrete and authentic evidence is essential to strengthen the persuasive impact of their communication.
