One of the innovations in the development of foam concrete is the use of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) as a replacement for fine aggregate, aiming to reduce density without compromising its mechanical properties. This study aims to the effect of variations in the cement-to-aggregate ratio and the replacement of fine aggregate with EPS on the physical and mechanical properties of foam concrete. The foam concrete specimens were prepared with cement-to-aggregate ratios of 1:2.75, 1:3, and 1:3.25. EPS was used as a replacement for 20% of the fine aggregate volume. The ratio of foam agent to water was 1:40, and the water-cement ratio was 0.45. Fresh concrete testing included slump flow and setting time to evaluate workability and setting characteristics. Density and compressive strength tests were conducted when the concrete reached 28 days of age after curing, which was done by covering the specimens with wet burlap to ensure optimal results. An increase in compressive strength and density was observed with different cement-to-aggregate ratios. The densities of FC 1, FC 2, and FC 3 specimens were 1222 kg/m³, 1222 kg/m³, and 1437 kg/m³, with compressive strengths of 1.99 MPa, 1.17 MPa, and 3.20 MPa. Meanwhile, the densities of FC-EPS 1, FC-EPS 2, and FC-EPS 3 specimens were 1038 kg/m³, 1083 kg/m³, and 1106 kg/m³, with compressive strengths of 1.16 MPa, 1.49 MPa, and 1.62 MPa.
