POLA ASUH ANAK PEKERJA MIGRAN INDONESIA DI KECAMATAN INDRALAYA
The study aims to examine the parenting patterns of Indonesian migrant workers’ children in Indralaya District. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research gathered data through interviews, observation, and documentation involving three research subjects. The findings show that the caregiving style for children of migrant workers in Indralaya tends to be democratic, with foster parents treating the children as their own. Several factors influence these parenting patterns, including limited communication between migrant parents and their children, the role of extended family members in caregiving, and economic pressures driving parents to work abroad. The study also highlights that the applied democratic caregiving strategies depend on family conditions and the roles of the caregivers. This research is expected to contribute to the formulation of policies that better support the welfare of migrant workers’ children and improve family support systems in Indonesia.
