POTENSI GENANGAN AIR YANG DIAKIBATKAN OLEH PERUBAHAN LAHAN VEGETASI MANGROVE BERBASIS CLOUD, MENGGUNAKAN GOOGLE EARTH ENGINE (GEE) DI PESISIR BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, has a vital mangrove ecosystem that plays a crucial role in maintaining coastal balance and disaster mitigation. However, changes in mangrove vegetation due to anthropogenic pressures increase the risk of flooding in this area. This study aims to identify mangrove vegetation land use changes in 2003, 2013, and 2023 and map the flooding potential using a cloud-based platform, Google Earth Engine (GEE). The study employs a supervised classification method using the Random Forest algorithm to map mangrove land use changes. Meanwhile, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is applied to assess flooding risk factors, including land cover, rainfall, drainage density, slope, and soil type. The results indicate a significant reduction in mangrove area by 2,551 hectares over the past 20 years. Flooding potential mapping highlights high-risk areas along the Banyuasin coast, particularly in regions with significant mangrove land changes. This information is expected to guide disaster mitigation policies and environmental management in the Banyuasin coastal area.
