RESEPSI AUDIENS TERHADAP SERIAL YOUTUBE RUANGGURU CLASH OF CHAMPIONS SEBAGAI TAYANGAN EDUKATIF
This study analyzes the audience's reception of the Ruangguru Clash of Champions YouTube series as an educational show. Using Stuart Hall's Encoding-Decoding theory, this research examines how Generation Z as active users of digital media, interpret the series. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and discussions on the Small Group Discussion (SGD) forum to identify the audience's reception position, namely dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, or oppositional. The results showed that the audience had various interpretations of this show, influenced by their educational background, personal experience, and expectations of educational shows. As many as 4 out of five audiences accept this show as an interesting educational show that can provide education from the academic and motivational aspects (dominant-hegemonic position), while the others negotiate the meaning by criticizing the academic questions presented (negotiated position). This research provides insights for educational content creators in developing content that is more effective, relevant, and attractive to the younger generation.Keywords: Clash of Champions, Educational Content, Generation Z, Reception
