Physical education is a learning process that involves physical activities to improve physical fitness, Physical education also aims to create an active learning environment in order to create all the potential that exists in students, SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya has realized the theory of physical fitness with field sports practices that are applied in extracurricular areas such as basketball. Basketball is a sport that is played in teams. One of the basic basketball techniques that must be mastered is shooting because the points obtained from the shooting results will determine the win or lose of a basketball game. The modification of the ball from size 6 was changed to size 7 which is expected that students will be confident when they return to using a size 6 ball and can throw the ball harder. The objectives of this study were: 1) To analyze the effect of modifying a size 7 ball on the accuracy and consistency of the women's basketball team's shooting. 2) To analyze significant differences in shooting skills before and after using a size 7 ball on the women's basketball team. The method used for this study was one group pre-test post-test design by practicing shooting with a modified ball and carried out in an overload manner. From the results obtained after conducting research on 20 samples before treatment (pre-test) there is a highest score of 6, the lowest score of 0, mean 2.95, mode 2, standard deviation 1.669, and after being given treatment (post-test) the highest score is 7, the lowest score is 1, mean 3.85, mode 3, standard deviation 1.599, and from the results of the T test, the T count result is -4.158 while the T table is 2.100, obtained from the results of the T distribution table with dk (20 -1-1) = 18 with a confidence level of 95% (a = 0.05). Because T-count (-4.158) > T table (2.100) then there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test, thus the hypothesis H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. From the research results, it was concluded that there was a significant difference before and after the treatment was given and there was an increase in the accuracy and consistency of the shooting of the girls' basketball team in the basketball extracurricular activities of SMP N 1 Indralaya.
