ANALISIS POTENSI TINGKAT KEKERINGAN BERBASIS SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS (SIG) DI KABUPATEN OKU TIMUR PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Drought is a condition caused by a decrease in rainfall below the seasonal average. Its impact is not only limited to reduced water availability but can also lead to environmental degradation such as cracked soil and barren land. OKU Timur Regency is an area dominated by the agricultural sector, where most of the population works as farmers. Water shortages in agricultural land can hinder plant growth and disrupt agricultural productivity. Based on these conditions, this study was conducted to analyze the potential hazards and spatial distribution of drought in OKU Timur Regency. This research utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Five main parameters were used in this study: land use, slope, soil type, rainfall, and distance to rivers. Each parameter was weighted and processed using scoring and overlay techniques to produce a drought potential map, classified into three categories: low, medium, and high. The analysis results show that areas with low drought potential cover 149,888.62 hectares, medium potential covers 145,803.89 hectares, and high potential covers 9,000.61 hectares.
