KOMUNITAS PLANKTON DI PERAIRAN KAWASAN INDUSTRI TEKSTIL TRADISIONAL TUAN KENTANG PALEMBANG DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This study aims to analyze the plankton community and determine the influence of physico-chemical factors on the plankton community in the waters of the traditional textile industry area of Tuan Kentang, Palembang. The research method used was descriptive method. Sampling was done using purposive sampling method. Three stations polluted by textile industry waste and three stations not polluted by textile industry waste were determined. Data analyzed quantitatively include abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, and dominance index of plankton. The results showed that there were 33 genera of plankton from 12 classes, consisting of Bacillariophyceae, Charophycaeae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Dinophyceae, and Euglenophyceae phytoplankton classes and Ciliata, Cladocera, Crustaceae, Euglyphidae, Monogononta, and Tubulinea zooplankton classes. Stations not polluted by textile effluents have higher diversity and uniformity index values, while stations polluted by textile effluents have higher dominance index values. The physico-chemical parameters of the station polluted by textile industry waste had higher values, which led to lower plankton abundance, diversity, and uniformity, and higher dominance. The contribution of this research product is in the form of teaching materials for biology learning material on environmental changes and aquatic ecosystems for high school.
