The potential of the lowland rice fields owned by Penyandingan Village is always utilized by the surronding population for rice farming. This agricultural activity is supported by the use of agricultural machinery technology that can enhance farmer’s productivity and income. The objectivies of this research are (1) To describe the reasons farmers use or do not use agricultural machinery, (2) To calculate and compare the income of farmers using and not using agricultural machinery, and (3) To analyze the factors influencing farmers' decisions in to use or not use agricultural machinery. This research was conducted in Penyandingan Village, Teluk Gelam District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research methods employed were survey and imbalanced stratified random sampling. Both primary data and secondary data were used. The results of this research are (1) The reasons why farmers use and do not use agricultural machinery are because of the ability of farmers to spend capital, the educational capabilities that farmers can take and the machine's ability to reach farmers' land. (2) The income of rice farmers using agricultural machinery is significantly higher than that of those not using such machinery. (3) Factors such as land size, age of the farmer, and farming experience have an insignificant impact while total income and farmer’s education significantly influence the decision of rice farmers to use agricultural machinery.
