EDUKASI PENGETAHUAN DIET 3J MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA LEAFLET PADA PASIEN DM TIPE II DENGAN MASALAH KEPERAWATAN DEFISIT PENGETAHUAN (JADWAL, JUMLAH, DAN JENIS MAKANAN) DI RSUP MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Introduction: Patients with diabetes mellitus have poor compliance with diabetes mellitus diet due to lack of exposure to information, lack of interest, and unwillingness to change their lifestyle. One way to reduce the risk of complications in patients with diabetes mellitus is through health education to support them, so that they are willing and able to change their lifestyle and undergo a diabetes mellitus diet to achieve a better quality of life. Media that can be used in health education is leaflets Leaflets can help patients understand diabetes mellitus and diet management. Leaflets are an educational tool that can be used because they are effective in increasing knowledge. Objective Applying mursing care with a focus on providing diet knowledge education for patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case staly approach by involving 3 patients with type II diabetes mellitus. They were given health education through lectures and questions and answers opportunities. Results and discussion: The results of the assessment showed that the three patients experienced a knowledge deficit. There were four other mursing problems that were established, namely unstable blood glucose levels, acute pain, impaired skin tissue integrity, and ineffective peripheral perfusion. Before the intervention was given, the patient filled out a pre-test to to find out the effectiveness of the leaflets on patients knowledge improvement. Through the intervention of diet knowledge education for patients with diabetes mellitus, the results showed their knowledge improved as indicated by the patients being able to repeat and explain the materials that had been delivered by nurses and the result of a post-test Conclusion: Nursing care for the three patients was given for three days and the knowledge education intervention had an effect on increasing the knowledge of the three patients with type II diabetes mellitus at RSUP Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.
