PERAN MODAL SOSIAL DALAM KEBERLANGSUNGAN USAHA PEDAGANG BUAH DI PASAR JAKABARING KOTA PALEMBANG
This study discusses the form and role of social capital in the sustainability of fruit traders’ businesses at the Jakabaring Market in Palembang City. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique, involving a total of 8 individuals: 2 key informants, 5 main informants, and 1 supporting informant. Data were obtained from both primary and secondary sources through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study show that the forms of social capital possessed by fruit traders at Jakabaring Market include extensive networks, ingrained social norms, and mutual trust that strengthens relationships. Furthermore, the study also reveals that social capital plays a vital role in business sustainability by expanding business opportunities, maintaining stock availability, and ensuring stable sales through their networks. Social norms help preserve long-term relationships, while trust contributes to building a positive reputation for the traders’ businesses
