PENGGUNAAN KAPUR CANGKANG RAJUNGAN (Portunus pelagicus) PADA AIR RAWA LEBAK UNTUK PEMELIHARAAN IKAN PATIN (Pangasius sp.)
Swamp water has a low pH value of around 3-4, this is causes swamp water to not be optimally used for fish farming. The optimum pH value for catfish (Pangasius sp.) is 6.0-8.5. Efforts that can be made to increase the pH of swamp water is by liming. The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of crab shell lime to increase water pH, growth, and survival rate of pangasius catfish. This research was carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Pond, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, from July to August 2024. This research used a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications; namely 0 mg L-1 (P0), 10 mg L-1 CaO equivalent (P1), 20 mg L-1 CaO equivalent (P2), 30 mg L-1 CaO equivalent (P3), and 40 mg L-1 CaO equivalent (P4). Pangasius catfish with initial length of 5±0.5 cm and a stocking density of 100 fish m-3, reared for 30 days. The results showed that the application of crab shell lime at a dose of 30 mg L-1 equivalent CaO (P3) was the best dose that was able to optimize the pH of swamp water from initial pH 5.39 to 7.22 at day 30 of culture, absolute weight growth of 10.75 g, absolute length growth of 5.32 cm, fish survival of 97.62% and feed efficiency of 104.69%.
