APLIKASI SENSOR TDS SEN0244 DALAM RANCANG BANGUN SISTEM MONITORING KONSENTRASI LOGAM BERAT PADA LARUTAN LIMBAH
Water pollution caused by heavy metals from industrial waste poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. Metals such as lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), and others are often found in high concentrations in wastewater, which, if not properly monitored, can exceed the permissible limits set by Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry (Permen LHK) No. 5 of 2014. This study aims to design and develop a monitoring system for heavy metal concentration in wastewater using the TDS SEN0244 sensor and ESP32 microcontroller integrated with the Blynk application for real-time remote monitoring. The system utilizes the principle of electrical conductivity, where the presence of heavy metal ions increases conductivity, which is then converted into concentration values. Validation tests were conducted on various samples, including artificial metal solutions and environmental water samples, and compared with measurements using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The results show that the system successfully detected heavy metal concentrations with an average accuracy of 98.21% and a precision of 94.30%. Moreover, samples with higher heavy metal content, such as water from Teluk Seruo Lake (Pb = 36.25 mg/L), yielded higher concentration values compared to samples with lower metal content. This study demonstrates that the TDS sensor can serve as an efficient, rapid, and integrated alternative for monitoring heavy metals in wastewater.
