Currently, many rubber plants have been converted into areas for other crops. This is due to the low price of rubber which makes rubber farmers prefer to abandon or convert rubber plants into other crops. Conversion is a change in land use carried out by humans, conversion can be permanent and temporary. The purpose of this research is to: (1) analyze the perceptions that farmers have regarding the conversion of rubber plants to oil palm plants in Budi Mulya Village Air Kumbang District Banyuasin Regency, (2) analyze the differences in income of conversion farmers and non-conversion farmers, (3) analyze what factors influence farmers in doing so conversion of rubber to palm oil. This data collection was carried out in November 2023. The method used in this research was a survey method. The sampling method used in this research was proportional stratified random sampling with a total sample of 34 farmers consisting of 24 rubber farmers who converted to oil palm and 12 rubber farmers who did not convert. The results of the research show that farmers' perceptions of the tendency to convert rubber plants into oil palm plants are relatively high. Judging from price indicators, land area and income are also relatively high. There is a significant difference in income between farmers who convert and do not convert in Budi Mulya Village with a difference of Rp16,181,791 per hectare per year. Factors that have a significant effect on the conversion of rubber plants to oil palm plants in Budi Mulya Village are the age of the rubber plant and the productivity of the rubber plant, while the factors that do not have a significant effect are the farmer's age, ethnicity, total household income, farming costs, and land area.
