DENSITAS DAN BIODIVERSITAS HAMA YANG MENYERANG TANAMAN MANGROVE PADA AREA REHABILITASI MANGROVE DI WILAYAH SUNGSANG, KABUPATEN BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Indonesia has the largest mangrove area in the world, South Sumatra as one of the provinces that has great potential, especially in the coastal area of Sungsang. However, mangrove ecosystems in this region have suffered significant damage due to human activities, such as land conversion for agriculture and ponds, so rehabilitation efforts are needed. One of the main challenges in mangrove rehabilitation is pest infestation, which can reduce survival rates and hinder restoration success. This study aims to identify pest species, analyze population density, and measure pest biodiversity index in mangrove rehabilitation areas in Marga Sungsang Village and Sungsang IV Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Data collection was conducted in August 2024 using a census survey method based on a grid of rehabilitation locations. The results showed that there were two main groups of destructive organisms, namely Mollusca and Arthropoda, with seven pest genus. Six pest species were found in Marga Sungsang Village and seven species in Sungsang IV Village. The pest density value in both locations was low (0.17 ind/ha), low species richness index, moderate diversity (1 < H' < 3), high uniformity (E = 0.6), and there was no dominance of certain pest species. Keywords : Mangrove, Sungsang, pests, rehabilitation, biodiversity, density, South Sumatra
