Sexual violence against children is often heard about in everyday life. The high rate of sexual violence in society is a problem that requires special attention. Sexual violence is any sexual act that someone commits with violence. Sexual violence can cause emotional shocks that cannot be immediately healed, and anyone can become a victim of sexual violence. The problem formulation in this research is: (1) What factors cause sexual violence against children in South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency; and (2) Efforts to prevent criminal acts of sexual violence against children in South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. In this research, the author uses normative legal research methods supported by empirical data. Based on research results, the factors that cause sexual violence against children are influenced by: 1. factors that influence the perpetrator, namely: a. economic factors, b. educational factors, c. cyber or internet factors. 2. Factors that make children victims, namely: a. parental awareness factor and b. environmental and community factors, c. individual factors. Efforts made to prevent criminal acts of sexual violence against children: a. South Ogan Komering Ulu Police's efforts to prevent criminal acts of sexual violence against children, b. Efforts by the South Ogan Komering Ulu District Prosecutor's Office to prevent criminal acts of sexual violence against children.
