EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PESTISIDA OLEH PETANI PADI DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP HAMA DAN PENYAKIT DI KABUPATEN BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
Rice (Oryza sativa) is an important food crop because it produces rice which is a staple food of most of Asian people. In Indonesia, rice is the main food crop to support peoples’ food. Pests that are commonly found attacking rice plants include rice stem borers, brown planthoppers, sting bug, and gold snails. Diseases that often attack rice plants include leaf blight caused by bacterium X. oryzae and blast disease caused by fungus Pyricularia grisea. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy and compliance of rice farmers in Banyuasin, South Sumatra province in implementing IPM that is environmentally friendly and safe for farmers themselves and consumers. This research was conducted on rice farmers' fields in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research took place from May to July 2023. The method used in this study was a survey method in the form of interviews with farmers who own rice. Interviews were conducted with 30 rice farmers. The sampling method used was a purposive sampling method. Observations of pests and diseases on plants were carried out directly and then determined the disease score on each sample plant. The results of this study are based on the results of interviews from data from 30 respondents, the average paddy farmer has land with an area of > 1 ha, the average age of farmers ranges from 56-65 years, and with the average education of farmers is elementary school.
