ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN SISTEM PENDINGIN AKTIF THERMOELECTRIC COOLER DENGAN SISTEM PENDINGIN PASIF PELAT ALUMINIUM BERLUBANG (PERFORATED ALUMINIUM PLATE) PADA PHOTOVOLTAIC JENIS POLYCRYSTALLINE 20 WP
This research aims to analyze and compare the performance of the Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) active cooling system with the Perforated Aluminum Plate passive cooling system on 20 WP polycrystalline solar panels. Testing was carried out for 14 days with data collection every minute from 09.00 to 15.00 WIB, including parameters of temperature, voltage, current, output power, and light intensity received by the panel. Three solar panels were used, namely panels without cooling, panels with perforated aluminum plate passive cooling system, and panels with TEC active cooling system. The test results showed that the solar panel with the TEC cooling system had the lowest panel temperature and produced the highest output power, with peak power reaching 30.42 W at maximum radiation intensity. The panel with perforated aluminum plates reached a maximum power of about 21.00 W, while the panel without cooling only reached 11.66 W. The efficiency produced by the panel with TEC reached 20.18%, the panel with perforated aluminum plates 15.58%, and the panel without cooling only 12.17%. From these results, it can be concluded that the use of cooling systems, both active and passive, can improve the performance of solar panels compared to panels without cooling. The TEC cooling system provides the most optimal results in maintaining panel temperature and improving power conversion efficiency, especially under high solar radiation conditions. This research demonstrates the importance of temperature control to improve the performance and efficiency of solar panels in renewable energy applications.
