ANALISIS LAJU KOROSI BAJA ST 40 PASCA PROSES PENGELASAN SMAW DENGAN DISIMILARITAS ARUS LISTRIK
In the current era, steel material is the basic material in a construction that combines or connects using welding methods. The disimilarity of the welding current used is an aspect of the influence of the creation of corrosion rates. The carbon content of steel causes it to oxidize easily so that rust appears. This study aims to find answers about how strong welding currents affect the corrosion rate in SMAW welding on ST 40 steel. Theresearch method used is an experimental method whose sequence consists of the preparation of test samples to the sample test stage. This observation is carried out with the use of current disimilarity of 70 A, 90 A and 110 amps which will then be followed by corrosion testing using HCl solution and air. Based on this test, it was found that the highest corrosion rate was owned by HCl corrosion media with a welding current of 70 Amp worth 0.087481 Mpy with a damage percentage of 18.11%, while the lowest corrosion rate was in air corrosive media with a welding current of 110 amps se r ta corrosion rate of 0.00 0139 Mpy followed by damage percentage of only 0.02%.
