PENGARUH CAMPURAN VARIASI PERSENTASE METAKAOLIN SEBAGAI SUBSTITUSI SEMEN TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK, PERMEABILITAS, DAN POROSITAS PADA BETON POROUS (PERVIOUS CONCRETE)
Pervious concrete is an innovative type of concrete characterized by its high porosity, allowing water to infiltrate through its surface and be absorbed into the ground. This study aims yo analyze the effect of varying percentages of metakaolin as cement substitute on the mechanical properties, permeability, and porosity of pervious concrete. Pervious concrete is recognized for its water absorption capabilities, making it a potential solution for reducing the risks of flooding and waterlogging. Metakaolin is used as a pozzolanic material to enhance compressive strength, durability, and improve the microstructure of concrete. In this study, tests were conducted using metakaolin substitution percentages of 10%, 12.5%, 15%, 17.5%, and 20% on concrete aged 7 and 28 days. The results indicated that a mixture comprising 85% cement and 15% metakaolin yielded optimal compressive strength of 13.17 MPa (28 days) and tensile strength of 3.87 MPa (28 days), with permeability at 0.469 cm/s and porosity at 24.34%. Higher metakaolin percentages tend to increase material density but reduce permeability, while lower percentages do not significantly improve mechanical strength.
