ANALISIS SIFAT FISIKA MEMBRAN NANOFIBER KITOSAN/PVA/EKSTRAK AKAR KUNING UNTUK APLIKASI FOOD-PACKAGING SEBAGAI KONTRIBUSI MATA KULIAH EKSPERIMEN FISIKA LANJUT
This study investigates the fabrication and physical properties analysis of nanofiber membranes based on chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with the addition of yellow root extract (Arcangelisia flava L.) for food-packaging applications. The nanofiber membranes were fabricated using the electrospinning method, with variations in yellow root extract content, spinning distance, and applied voltage. Morphological analysis using microscope revealed that the produced membranes exhibit fine fiber structures with a diameter distribution ranging from 419.98 to 891.99 nm. Process optimization was conducted using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with a Central Composite Design (CCD), resulting in optimal conditions at 390.21 mg of yellow root extract, 120.47 mm spinning distance, and 15.61 kV applied voltage, with a maximum fiber diameter of 837.28 nm. The findings indicate that KS/PVA/EAK nanofiber membranes have significant potential as biodegradable food-packaging materials with antioxidant and antibacterial properties derived from yellow root extract.
