Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) is a plantation crop that has an important role for the economy of the Indonesian people. The production of rubber plants is influenced by several factors such as the type of clone, the way of cultivation, the environment, and interference from various diseases. Diseases that are often found in rubber plants are caused by pathogenic fungi. Pestalotiopsis has been identified as the cause of leaf fall disease in rubber plants. However, observations of the characteristics of Pestalotiopsis spp. have not been well documented macroscopically or microscopically on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) media and Czapek Dox Agar (CDA) media. The purposes of this study was to determine the characteristics of 3 species of Pestalotiopsis spp. and knowing the influence of media on the growth of 3 species of Pestalotiopsis spp. The benefit of this study is to provide information and knowledge regarding the growth of Pestalotiopsis sp. which are isolated in different media. The methods used in this study consist of tabulation (descriptive) methods for observational studies of microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of fungi on PDA and CDA media, and Complete Randomized Design (RAL) on the observation of fungal mycelium colony diameters. The macroscopic characteristics of the three fungal species tested on PDA media are the surface of the colony which is white, the base of the colony is yellowish white. has form, elevation, margin i.e. failamentous, crateriform, filiform. while the morphological characteristics of these three species in CDA media have significant differences on the surface of hyaline colonies to white/greenish white, the base of colonies that were originally hyaline colored became yellowish white, white and greenish white. has form, elevation, margin i.e. failamentous, flat, filiform. Microscopic characteristics of Neopestalotiopsis clavispora on PDA media have characteristics of insulated hyphae, hyaline, and elongated hyphal shape. Neopestalotiopsis thailandica has the characteristics of insulated hyphae, hyaline and elongated hyphal shapes and the species Pseudopestalotiopsis curvatispora has characteristics namely insulated hyphae, hyaline and elongated hyphal shape. Significant differences are seen in the microscopic characteristics of growth in CDA media from N. thailandica which has the characteristics of insulated hyphae, hyaline and elongated shape with hyaline, insulated and elongated oval-shaped conidia. While P. curvatispora has the characteristics of insulated hyphae, hyaline and elongated shape with hyaline, insulated conidia and elongated oval shape. The effect of the two media tested on the three species was significant, where from the observation data of the diameter of the fungal mycelium colony, the growth of the three fungal species experienced a good or normal growth rate on PDA media, while the growth on CDA media experienced a fairly slow growth rate.
