Palm oil mill effluent (POME) is a by-product of the palm oil processing process that can be used as an alternative fertilizer because it contains essential nutrients for plants. However, without proper treatment, this waste has the potential to pollute the environment. This study aims to identify the quality of wastewater in the palm oil mill effluent pond (WWTP) before it is applied to the land at PT Waimusi Agroindah. The research was conducted at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) owned by PT Waimusi Agroindah which is located in Mesuji Raya District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method by comparing wastewater quality parameters against quality standards. Samples were collected manually using the composite test sampling technique. The results of the analysis show that the wastewater of each palm oil mill effluent pond (POME) at PT Waimusi Agroindah has a different quality in the cooling pond (pond 1) shows that the overall content of the waste has not met the quality standards, in the mixing pond (pond 4) which is given a culture in the form of POME biology genesis bacteria shows that COD (16. 849 mg L-1) and fatty oil (36.2 mg L-1) are still relatively high and have not met the quality standards, and the last pond or sediment pond (pond 8) still has two waste contents that have not met the quality standards in accordance with Permen LH No. 5 of 2014, namely COD (11,475 mg L-1) and Cd (0.89 mg L-1).
