DETERMINAN FAKTOR SOSIAL DAN LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP BALITA STUNTING DI SUMATERA SELATAN : SKI 2023
Stunting remains one of the major chronic nutritional problems and a public health challenge in Indonesia. According to the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (SKI), the prevalence of stunting in South Sumatra Province reached 20.3%. This study aims to examine the influence of social and environmental factors on the incidence of stunting among children under five in South Sumatra Province. A cross-sectional study design was used with secondary data sourced from the 2023 SKI. A total of 10,120 children aged 0–59 months were analyzed using chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that maternal education, child's sex, place of residence, and sanitation conditions were significantly associated with stunting (p-value < 0.05). The variables were categorized as follows: maternal education (low and high), child’s sex (male and female), residence (urban and rural), sanitation (good and poor), and drinking water quality (good and poor). Intersectoral interventions involving maternal education, improved access to sanitation, and equitable information dissemination are needed to effectively reduce stunting rates.
