REPELENSI EKSTRAK DAUN PEPAYA DENGAN FORMULASI GRANULAR TERHADAP Sitophilus oryzae (LINNAEUS) (COLEOPTERA: CURCULIONIDAE)
In Indonesia, rice is one of the most commonly consumed staple foods. Rice that has been stored is subject to various risks during the process. A pest of the Coleoptera order, Sitophilus oryzae, frequently targets rice. The aim of this study was to find the LC50 value, or the concentration of the vegetable insecticide needed to kill 50% of S. oryzae, the repellency index of the insecticide against S. oryzae, and the effect of the insecticide treatment on S. oryzae mortality. The study was carried out at Bangka Belitung, Palembang, South Sumatera, and the Perum BULOG (Logistic Agency) Regional Division of South Sumatera between June and October of 2023. Four treatments and six replicates were used in the study. The repellency index at 30% concentration was 26.66%, at 40% concentration it was 30%, at 50% concentration it was 33.33%, and at 60% concentration it was 36.66%. These were the low repellency index values found in this study. S. oryzae mortality was zero on average in the control group. At 60% concentration, S. oryzae mortality was at its highest on average. The concentration of 30% resulted in the lowest S. oryzae average mortality. The average S. oryzae mortality at 30% concentration was 62.88%. At 40% concentration, S. oryzae mortality averaged 65.88%, while at 50% concentration, the average was 63.33%. The average death rate of S. oryzae was 75% at a concentration of 60%. On the first day of observation, the LC50 value was 209.925%, but on the 14th day, it was 18.975%. This indicated that the LC50 value decreased over time.
