The horn beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) is one of the important pests on oil palm plantations, O. rhinoceros attacks on oil palm plantations can cause significant economic losses to oil palm plantations. O. rhinoceros can attack the growing point of oil palm plants causing death in oil palm plants. Losses due to O. rhinoceros attacks result in several problems such as decreased yields, damage to oil palm plants that have not yet produced and crops that have produced. This study aimed to determine effectiveness of bioinsecticides from solid waste on mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae at temperatures of 25-30 °C in laboratory. This study was carried out using an incubator with temperature has been set to 25-30 °C. This study was prepared using a complete randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications as a comparison given water treatment and commercial B.thuringiensis. The media used were tofu dregs, corn pulp, oil palm meal and peanut meal as a source of nitrogen and onggok media as a source of carbon. Colony density in growth media as propagation media showed a different number of colony densities. The highest colony density was found in the treatment of tofu dregs + onggok with the number of colonies 3.07 × 1010 cfu / g. The mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae showed significantly different results after each waste bioinsecticide was applied at a temperature of 25-30 °C. The highest mortality was found in the treatment of onggok + tofu pulp with a mortality rate of 100% during 32 days of study. O. rhinoceros larvae infected with Bacillus thuringiensis showed early symptoms, in which larvae will go to the soil surface, lazy to move and have no appetite. Physically infected larvae showed changes in body color to black, brownish and swelling of the larval body and secrete foul-smelling fluid.
