HUBUNGAN SANITASI LINGKUNGAN DENGAN KELUHAN PENYAKIT KULIT DI KECAMATAN INDRALAYA KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
Skin disease complaints are a common health problem, especially in communities with poor access to sanitation and clean water. This study aims to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation and skin disease complaints in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The study was conducted using an observational study method with a cross-sectional study plan. The research sample was 126 households in Indralaya District which were taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately with the Chi-square test from primary data obtained from questionnaires and observation sheets. The results of the study showed that skin disease complaints were dominated by mild complaints with symptoms such as itching, redness, spots, and skin irritation. The study showed that there was a significant relationship between the variables of clean water sources (p = 0,003), types of toilets (p = 0,001), wastewater drainage channels (p = 0,041), and the physical quality of clean water (p = 0,011). Meanwhile, the variables of waste disposal facilities (p = 0,571) and the presence of animals and disease vectors (p = 1,000) did not have a significant relationship with skin disease complaints. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between clean water sources, types of toilets, wastewater drainage channels, and the physical quality of clean water with skin disease complaints in the community of Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Therefore, the community is expected to be able to fulfill access to sanitation, prevent environmental pollution, in order to maintain the quality of water sources so that they remain clean and safe to use so as to reduce the incidence of skin diseases in the community.
