Poor sanitation such as inadequate waste management, unhealthy latrines and poor SPAL are risk factors for diarrhea in toddlers. Data from the Sematang Borang Health Center showed 90 cases of diarrhea in toddlers in the period January–September 2024. This study aims to analyze the relationship between Environmental Sanitation and Personal Hygiene with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the work area of the Sematang Borang Health Center, Palembang. This type of research uses a quantitative method with a Cross Sectional design. The population in this study were all toddlers who live in the work area of the Sematang Borang Health Center, Palembang. The research sample was 103 toddlers. The sampling technique was Proportional Random Sampling. The method of data collection in this study was using primary data obtained from interviews using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between the use of trash bins (p = 0.001), drinking water treatment (p = 0.000), and hand washing behavior with soap (p = 0.005) with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. Meanwhile, the provision of clean water (p = 0.967), toilet conditions (p = 0.559), SPAL conditions (p = 0.901) and nail cleanliness (p = 1.000) were not significantly related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the Sematang Borang Palembang Health Center Working Area. The results of multiple logistic regression tests obtained the dominant factor in the incidence of diarrhea, namely drinking water treatment (p = 0.001 and PR 5.892). It can be concluded that drinking water treatment that does not meet the requirements is the most determining factor in the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers.
