UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK DAN FRAKSI DAUN DAN KULIT BUAH MELINJO (Gnetum gnemon.L) DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DPPH
Melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) is a plant that is widely used in traditional medicine because it contains bioactive compounds with potential antioxidant activity. This study aims to test the antioxidant activity of 96% ethanol extract and N-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction of leaves and melinjo fruit skin using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. Extraction was carried out by the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent, then fractionation was carried out with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and water solvents. Antioxidant activity was measured based on the IC₅₀ value, which is the concentration of the sample that can reduce 50% of DPPH radicals. The results showed that the ethanol extract of melinjo leaves and fruit skin had strong antioxidant activity with IC₅₀ values of 64.55 µg/mL and 39.12 µg/mL, respectively. The ethyl acetate fraction showed the highest antioxidant activity compared to other fractions, indicating that the active antioxidant compounds are more soluble in solvents with medium polarity. Thus, the leaves and skin of melinjo fruit have the potential as a natural source of antioxidants that can be further developed in the pharmaceutical and functional food industries.
