This research was conducted in the High Conservation Value Area of PT Waimusi Agroindah to study the physical characteristics of soil, including moisture content, bulk density, total pore space, soil texture, soil structure, soil color, and organic matter content. The method involved soil sampling using a purposive sampling approach, with samples collected six times and analyzed at the Soil Department Laboratory of Sriwijaya University. The analysis results indicated that the soil in the study area had a moisture content ranging from 31% to 37%, bulk density ranging from 0.8510 (g/cm3) to 0.9706 (g/cm3), total pore space ranging from 63% to 68%, a soil texture of sandy loam and sandy clay loam, a structure ranging from weak granular to moderate granular, and a predominantly the color of soil is a dark. And the organic matter content ranged from 2.9702% to 4.5838%. These findings suggest that the physical condition of the soil in this area fulfilling the purpose of HCV areas to protect natural ecosystems, regular monitoring and sustainable land management practices are essential to maintain soil quality in this region.
