Rangkui River in Pangkalpinang city has been shallow due tosedimen deposition. The sitation causes the area arround the flow of the river become area og prone to flooding and harm the surrounding community, therefore, the hadling of Rangkui River sitation is needed. Before that, the flow of Rangkui River must be analyzed first. One of the ways is through this study which aims to determine the sediment condition, the total sediment transport rate, and the criteria of sedimen load in Rangkui River. In this study, basic material samples were tested by using analysis granular testing to know whether the condition of sediment in Rangkui River is fine sand. Based on the sample test in the field, it is known that the sediment transport rate in upstream part was 2,894 kg/s; the sediment transport rate in the center part was 3.055 kg/s; the sediment transport rate in downstream part was 2.045 kg/s; and the average of the sediment transport rate in Rangkui River was 2.664 kg/s. The method of empirical exquations used in the analysis of total sediment transport rates was by using Yang`s method, Shen and Hung method, and Engelund and Hansen method. In this calculation, the most appropriate method was Yang method with a difference index (IP) of 16.86% against the value of the sediment transport rate in the field. Based on the calculation using Regulation of the Minister og Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia no. 60, 2014, it was obtained that the value of sediment load of Rangkui River was 19.87 tons/ha/year which means that the qualifiation of recovery was high.
