STRATEGI COPING PETANI IKAN KERAMBA DI DESA TANTAN, KEC. SEKERNAN, KAB. MUARO JAMBI
This research focuses on the coping strategies used by cage fish farmers in Tantan Village, Sekernan Sub-District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The majority of family heads in Tantan village work as cage fish farmers. The purpose of this study is to understand the socio-economic conditions and coping strategies used by cage fish farmers in overcoming the impact of Batanghari river water pollution. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. This research uses the Coping Strategy theory of Lazarus and Folkman (1984). Data were obtained from 10 main informants, and 5 supporting informants through interviews, participant observation, and documentation as well as Huberman's (2014) model data analysis technique. The results showed that the socioeconomic conditions of cage fish farmers include low education and being a cage fish farmer is the main job with a moderate income. The economic condition of fish farmers can be seen from the ownership of assets in the form of fish cages. There are two forms of coping strategies according to Lazarus and Folkman (1984) in overcoming pressure and stress due to Batanghari river water pollution which causes losses to the business of cage fish farmers.
