The objective of this study is to identify and analyze the strategies of community empowerment by the Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM) in Perigi Village, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, as well as to identify and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in the empowerment of the community by BRGM in Perigi Village. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The findings show that BRGM's community empowerment strategies in Perigi Village have succeeded in several key aspects. First, they provided in-depth training on techniques for selecting superior seeds, livestock management, as well as feed and nutrition for chickens. Second, BRGM facilitated access to resources by providing capital for building coops, livestock equipment, and purchasing feed and seeds. Third, BRGM strengthened community capacity through intensive training, financial management, education on environmental regulations, and facilitating networking within the livestock industry. Fourth, the community actively participated in protecting the peatland ecosystem by adopting fire-free land clearing practices, using environmentally friendly fertilizers, and forming community fire prevention groups, as well as implementing village regulations on the protection and management of the peatland ecosystem and its sustainability. The supporting and inhibiting factors in community empowerment by BRGM in Perigi Village include: Supporting factors—community awareness and active participation were key to the success of this program. BRGM made efforts to raise community awareness of the importance of environmental preservation and business sustainability. The community was encouraged to actively participate in training programs, mentoring, and collaborations with various related parties. Inhibiting factors—internal factors stemmed from the Perigi Village community itself, while external factors included a lack of responsiveness and insufficient support from the Ogan Komering Ilir Regency Government.
