Corn is one of the cereal commodities with high demand, where the success of corn plant production is partly influenced by the presence of soil arthropods. Soil arthropods can have both positive and negative impacts on plant growth, and soil arthropods can be controlled using endophytic fungi. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of applying pathogenic endophytic fungi through the leaves on the abundance and diversity of soil arthropod species and to observe the effects of various entomopathogenic endophytic fungi isolates on maize yield and growth. This research was conducted in the Plant Protection Study Program, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The design used is a Latin Square Design (LSD) with four treatments, namely using several isolates: treatment A using Beauveria bassiana, treatment B using Metarharizium anisophilae, treatment C using Penicillium sp at a concentration of 1 x 10^10 conidia/mL in 200 mL, and treatment K as the control. Sampling was done in a W-shape for each treatment with a total of 30 samples. The research results show that the application of endophytic fungi to corn plants did not have a significant effect. Phytophagous arthropod species showed significantly different results, but there was no effect on neutral and predator arthropod species. The abundance of soil arthropods continued to increase even with the application of endophytic fungi; however, endophytic fungi still affected phytophagous insects that fed on the plants treated with fungi. Keyword: Beauveria bassiana; Berlese funnel; Metarhizium anisopliae; Penicilium citrinum; Pifall trap.
